Following the relocation of air services to Kaduna Airport from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has established 15 outposts along the Abuja-Kaduna road, which cover Zuba, Bwari, Jere, Kadua routes etc, to ensure security of the roads for six weeks starting March 8.
This was disclosed by the NSCDC Commandant General, Alhaji Abdulahi Gana Muhammadu in his office at the Corps National Headquarters, Abuja.
According to him, the decision to establish the 15 outpost along Abuja-Kaduna Road was born out of the need to provide security during the six weeks that operations at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja would be moved to the Kaduna Airport.
“We are doing all within our powers to strengthen relationship with relevant stakeholders in order to achieve the desired result,” he said.
Gana also assured motorists travelling to the north part of the country and other states in the north at this period through Kaduna-Abuja road, saying the corps had mapped out strategies to ensure security along the road.
